Protecting Members and Employees During the Coronavirus Outbreak

The health and safety of members and employees is very important to us and we are updating this page regularly to share information on how we will continue to serve you amid concerns about the Coronavirus.

Alaska USA is following the direction of local, state and the Federal government, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in its response to the current COVID-19 pandemic event. Read on to learn more about the changes we are making to significantly increase social distancing while remaining open as an essential service.

Hours and availability

Alaska USA has temporarily made changes to branch availability and hours of operation to help slow the spread of Coronavirus. 

Most branches will be limited to drive-up service or by making an appointment for required transactions. Some communities may have limited walk-in service.

For transactions that require in-person interactions please call 800-525-9094 to schedule an appointment. 

Loan Center hours for credit cards, vehicle, and personal loans are Monday–Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm AKST

While we recognize the potential inconvenience this may cause, members are being strongly encouraged to access accounts online or via the Alaska USA app, to call the 24/7/365 Member Service Center, or use one of the 55,000+ Allpoint network ATMs.

The safety and well-being of members, employees and the communities we serve remains our top priority. The challenges all of us face at this time are unprecedented, and we will continuously monitor the rapidly changing environment and will continue to adjust branch hours and operations as necessary to protect the health of members and employees. Regular branch services will be reinstated when appropriate and safe to do so.

Online account access

Download the Alaska USA app or log in from any device to pay bills, transfer funds to accounts and friends and family, get account statements, and more—all from your smartphone or tablet. You can also use the app to turn off or on a credit or debit card that has been misplaced or stolen.

Drive-up service

Many Alaska USA branches have drive-up locations for you to safely and securely conduct a wide range of financial transactions.

Tips on avoiding fraud

Unfortunately, fraudsters are using fear and urgency tactics around COVID-19 to prey on consumers. They may mimic communications from expert sources such as the CDC, the World Health Organization or other "official" sources. Do not respond to, click any links, or open attachments you receive from suspicious emails or texts. Alaska USA will never call or email you asking for your account information. When you call the credit union, you will be asked questions to verify your identity.

It’s important to make sure your contact information with Alaska USA is up to date—this makes it easier for us to verify your identity if you need to conduct business over the phone. You can update your contact information via online account access, by selecting the Account Profile tab, and selecting Address.


Do you have any scheduled or recurring payments?

Do you have any scheduled or recurring payments set to go out this month? It’s a good idea to double check in case you need to make a change.

It’s important to remember that your Alaska USA Federal Credit Union savings and checking accounts are fully insured by the NCUA for up to $250,000.

As our nation deals with the increased uncertainty around the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Alaska USA remains committed to providing the best member service possible while taking precautions to protect members and employees. Alaska USA continues to monitor the rapidly evolving conditions and follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) along with local government agencies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Alaska USA has taken the following actions to help protect members and employees:
  • Adhering to social distancing recommendations and encouraging members to do the same, which should include refraining from person-to-person contact, such as shaking hands
  • Increasing the frequency and thoroughness of facilities cleaning
  • Adjusting branch hours, services, and the need for closures of facilities
  • Postponing all credit union-sponsored events
  • Allowing remote work when possible
  • Allowing flexible shifts  
  • Working with those dealing with unanticipated closures of public services
  • Providing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of workspaces
